Longer term storage question

Ya dont worry about taking the trailer for a monthly "walk." Unless you rotate the air in the tires too....lol.
Normal winterization, whatever you do for weather protection and no different than parking it for a few months.
Good to keep an eye out for rodents etc. and batteries Maintained.

Might as well take the batterys out & leave the trailer completely dead.

Depends on what you mean by "Canada" - by land mass the second largest country in the world. ;) Look at a map of N America and you'll see that S Ontario where ~ 1/3rd of the total Cdn population lives is much further south than a significant portion of the northern US population so while many of those Americans are now suffering terrible winter weather we here in S Ontario are now just seeing our first signs of winter weather and in some areas around Lake Ontario and Lake Erie none at all. I usually winterize around the beginning of Nov but since we rarely see snow until we're well into Dec, sometimes even Jan, we could easily still be camping. Heck, I was painting the exterior trim on my house just a couple of weeks ago - beautiful fall weather. Now, if you want to talk about "Winterpeg" in Manitoba then yeah, winter can start early and last a l-o-n-g time. :E

As for the OP, if he's intending to keep his trailer I'd be inclined to put it in a seasonal park nearby and still use it when I could rather than just store it. :)

I'm new to this so keep this mind.
I first checked for anyway rodents could get in and blocked them off. Cover trailer and wheels. I always park on wood to keep tires from freezing to ground or sinking in soft ground.
I use the PVC pipe to build T. Buying rodent poison from Tractor Supply with the hole in it. Set T between and behind duel wheels. Using coat hanger I bend a little hook on one end. Slide three or four baits over coat hanger and slide it down into T. This way if they eat one off another one slides into place. Mice do not have to go any further to find something to eat that also does them in out side of trailer.

Tires I change every five years no matter what they look like. Get date made off side wall. Mine are do for change till next year and will do so early in the season. I am running ST'S but thinking of going to LT's but that is a whole other topic.

Agree. Exposing the trailer to road salt by towing it during the winter would do far more damage than letting it sit a few months which mine currently is doing and will for ~ 5 months, no issues at all.

Considering you are parking the camper at your house, it would do you well to keep the camper parked and ready in such a position you can hitch up and take it for a spin every now and then. If it were me, I'd hitch up and take it for a 10-20 miles drive once a month at least. Why? To keep bearings moving, joints flexible, tires from getting flat spots, and basically, to flex the trailer a little.

In the winter, I always take mine on the road at least once every month and drive around a few miles. If it has snowed, I just wait for the highway department to clear off the roads and pick a nice day to go for the drive.

Here again, I keep the camper winterized, and it's basically shut down, but still ready to hitch-and-go at a heartbeat.

Considering we use our camper at home through the winter, I still take it on the road at least once a month to keep the wheels turning. Although, I do have to repack everything inside to keep stuff from falling around.

May I suggest you do the same thing. A camper just sitting, especially for so long, is not good. It should be kept rolling.

Now, if you were a thousand miles from the camper, or incapacitated yourself, that would be different. But in your situation, you could still take the camper out for some exercise every now and then. Keep it parked for easy hitch-up. With your suggestions, your camper should be OK.
