Looking at one camper with unducted A/C

I am looking at one camper that has one roof A/C and it is not ducted. The trailer size is 29 feet. Will it be able to keep it reasonable cool in Texas? There is a roof vent in front of the trailer above the queen size bed. Its not prewired, but I wonder if I could remove the vent and add the second A/C and plug it in directly to the pedestal, not wire it into the camper existing electrical system. Many camp ground have 20 AMP outlet along with 30AMP and or 50AMP outlet. I could plug it in to the 20 AMP outlet when I need it.

Feed backs? I am going to look at it tomorrow.

  • My 5er is a little longer at 34', but there have been multiple occasions when it took both ACs running 2-3 hours to cool down the trailer after a long hot day (100+) of towing to a point it was comfortable. Especially if there was no shade available. Once cooled, one 15k AC will kept it that way.
  • I do not think you will be happy with a non-ducted a/c in a 29ft trailer. Adding a second a/c unit would be totally possible.
  • I have had an un-ducted A/C in a 19 ft trailer and it was fine, but in a larger trailer I think it might not cool as you wish. Adding a second unit makes sense. Wiring can be done several ways, it just depends on how you want to handle it. I suggest the second A/C, especially in your area.
