need good grill

When we got our Class A we bought a Weber Q-220. Very good quality (cast aluminum) works very well. The only problem was that it was about 1/4" too tall to fit through the stow-bin doors. I soon got fed up of dismantling and re-assembling it at every campground.

We gave our large backyard grill to daughter and s-i-l, made the Q-220 our backyard grill and got a Q-100 for the RV. We sold it with the RV when we left the lifestyle.

The Q220 is still going strong after 8 ears of backyard use.

I just got this Blackstone Tailgater.

A 16"x16" 20K BTU grille w/ heavy cast iron grates, AND a 16"x16" 15K BTU cold rolled steel griddle. Each just lifts off easily to use the large burners underneath (for dutch oven, pots, etc.) if needed. Have only used it so far for a breakfast at home to try it out (a full pound of bacon at one time, woohoo!), but so far I love it. It's easy to set up, adjustable for any terrain, and breaks down relatively compact, although it is heavy. Quickly heats up (500+ in the grille box, 400+ on the griddle surface). For $200, I have a large grille, a large griddle, 2 large open burners...pick any two at a time as needed.:C

That is why we bought the Q 2000 rather than the Q 1000. We sometimes have another couple over and wanted a grill large enough. When I had my Class C, I also had to remove the lid to get it into/out of the basement. I considered that a small price to pay for a grill that I liked, since it only had 2 pins to pull. Now that I have a TT, I keep it in the bed of the truck.

We've been using our Q120 for just camping as we have a Q220 on the deck here at the house but even cooking steaks for 4 it's more than I need so I'm beginning to use the smaller Q even here at home.

Does the 2000 have a warming rack? That is the only thing I don't like about my stainless steel. No warming rack. The top is actually not high enough to allow one

My Q is GREAT for 2 people. Any more than that it becomes too small.

I avoided the Q myself for awhile. I purchased the Sam's Club model you mentioned. I hated it, hard to clean and cooked unevenly. Luckily there is Craigslist. I unloaded the Sam's Club grill on CL.
Next up I purchased the Coleman Roadtrip. I loved the size and built in stand but on cool/colder days it would not get hot. Nothing like grilling on a lukewarm grill! Again CL bailed me out.
Finally I wised up and purchased a Weber Q on Craigslist.
My only complaint about the Q is size. It can be a tad small at times but otherwise it's great. More importantly it functions well and cleans up easily.
I'm a slow learner, but count me among the Weber faithful.

Yup. We did just about the same thing/process.

Who knew there was a Weber Q cult????
