Who wants a tiny little under powered Q when you can have a real grill.
Calling a Q "under powered" simply means you don't understand how this grill, with it's porcelain coated cast iron grill, works. :R The smaller Q100 / Q120 / Q1200 series has an 8500 BTU burner, the next size up Q200 / Q220 /Q2200 has a 12,000 BTU burner by design because that's all that's needed for these grills to cook efficiently. I would likewise then ask - why waste gas on a grill that uses so much more gas than a Q? :S
Our "under-powered" Weber Q1200 really heats up fast and if not careful heats way up to 400+F and will overcook or burn stuff in no time. It's BTU rating is not an indication of how well it performs. It's almost way too much BTU even turned to low. The compact shape is very efficient and radiates heat from the enclosure back onto the food more evenly plus it does a good job of retaining moisture in the food. Never understood why so many people rave about them until we got one.
