So basically what everyone is saying is don't trust the stated payload on the door and pick your trailer size by determinig your left over payload for your hitch weight? Have you found that much of a difference between actual and what is written on the stickers?
I would think that if you knew the curb weight and subtracted that from the GVWR you would know exactly how much weight you had. If I knew this I could subtract the weight of my family members and get a better idea.
I am going to see if I can get to a scale with a full tank of gas and get out the truck and see how much difference there is, but for some data points can you list your payload and GVWR from the door tags and than what you acutally weighed on the scale to determine actual payload?
