The problem is you don't know what that stated payload takes into account.
Just the driver?
Full tank of gas?
The bikes you haul in the bed of the truck? (as an example)
The hitch weight? (and yes this deducts from the payload too)
Loaded cooler in the bed of the truck?
So, at least weigh you and a full tank of gas, then you can add in the weight of your other passengers, etc.
