You can't go by the sticker either - payload is equal to GVWR minus curb weight (from my online research). Curb weight is equal to the vehicle ready to drive with all fluids and a full tank of gas, no occupants. When i took my truck to the CAT scale I didn't get out quick enough before the weight was done and it weighed 5640lbs - so if i subtract my heavy butt of 240lbs, that would put my curb weight at 5400lbs - which means I have 1500lbs of payload available.
I am open to suggestions for TT - let me know what you would pull in my situation. Like my original post I didn't buy the truck to pull a trailer, but if I can find something that we like that I can pull it would be nice. If I have to run on the edge that is fine.
