The Country campground I stood at outside of Rochester NY had a rule, you can tie into the water supplies on the road, but you have to use a Y adapter. Different campgrounds have different rules. Also, at this campground, you would possibly need a bit of hose to reach the nearest spigot. I opted to just fill my Pur filter at the Spigot, since I didn't have nearly enough hose.
