Newb question about fresh water tank

Hey guys newb here. Wife and I are planning our first trip with our Travel Trailer over the 4th. We are going to Hardy Lake in Southern Indiana. She's never been but my grandparents went all the time growing up, so have fond memories of that place.

However I just realized today that their sites are electric only. My question what's proper etiquette to get fresh water into the tank? According to website, water supply is 15 feet away. Is it normal to run a line from TT to water supply across the road? Or is there a mobile, water drinking tank you recommend I buy? Or pretty sure my grandparents used 2 gallon jugs. LOL IDK just confused on what's proper etiquette.

Thanks In Advance,
Jeffrey

  • Get a "Y" adapter, or a 4 way manifold (so someone else wanting water won't disconnect your hose), use hose to fill up the TT's tank, call it done. If the threads are scraped off the water faucet, use a water thief, and disconnect it when finished filling.
  • If the water supply is really only 15 feet away, I'd just run your hose over and fill your tank when needed as long as you are not creating a hazard in the roadway, blocking someone else, or the campground tell you not to, etc....Of course, unhook and roll up your hose when done, etc...

One thing to be aware of is that some of the water sources may not be threaded.
