Newbie: First time de-winterizing

Woo hoo! Spring is nearly here and we're preparing for our first trip of the season.

But first I need to de-winterize our Kodiak. I found this http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28369813.cfm checklist, which seems pretty easy to follow. Any "gotchas" or other items I should be aware of (especially considering that DW and I are complete newbies)?

A few quick questions...

1. Since the AF is non-toxic, can I open all the valves and just let everything drain to the ground?

2. After I reconnect my battery, can I plug into my household outlet (I have a 30-to-15 amp converter) to charge the battery?

3. What else to y'all do to get ready for the new camping season?

  • Sanitize your water system. There are multiple threads here on how to do it. Don't forget the water hose.

If you have your water heater bypassed and drained, put the plug back in the water heater, and turn the valves back so it will fill up. Do this before you sanitize, so the water heater will get sanitized too.
