I am glad to hear that you have not been dissuaded. Preparation will be a key to your success.
Your plan is doable and rational. Remember that there are 2-2-2 Rvers out there. (Travel 200 miles max, Stop by 2pm, Stay 2 days.) They remind my of the wagon train people that often could see the prior nights campsite from the next.
About a decade ago, we bought this coach. We had it for two weeks and did one overnight and then took off on a 2800 mile excursion around Lake Michigan. Yes, I had to fix some things in route, but I had given the coach a good going over.
