As the link eludes to regarding repaving:
Keep in mind many of these older bridges/overpasses where painted with the height 'years ago'.
Almost all the ones in the Chicagoland area are WRONG.
WHY?
Because roads especially in the colder states are repaved over and over and over again. So what the height of the bridge used to be is no longer true, not even close sometimes.
I guess an RV'er from the South would not even think about that. Us Northerners sure do know about it and do NOT trust ANY bridge sign if it is even close to how high we are.
