- SweetWaterSurprExplorerI'll be towing my Wrangler so we have our own wheels. It's just been hard to find a place still open or that's not over an hour away from Salem.
- GaryWTExplorerI was just curious where in Maine you were staying. The list above for Essex County is a little outdated but many are still around. Also souther or seacoast NH is not bad and you can drive to Salem for the day to enjoy all the witches etc. Also from Gloucester or Salisbury areas, you can get the train to Salem.
- NYCgrrlExplorerDon't know if you've already decided to drop Salem, MA, from your itinerary but here is a list of campgrounds for the entire county of Essex in MA:
Essex County Campgrounds
HTH - SweetWaterSurprExplorerI think we have Maine covered as of now. It's the stop in Salem and perhaps one other location that are still in question.
- GaryWTExplorerTo visit Salem, where have you looked? I would not be caught staying at the campground in Salem, but that is me. Look at Littleton MA, Salisbury or Gloucester. You would then have a 30-45 minute drive but that is what we do in Mass. Where are you staying in Maine? It is a holiday weekend here so things do tend to fill up, plus the foliage. After this weekend, many campgrounds start to close.
Good luck. - SweetWaterSurprExplorerThat's what we have chosen to do. Try alternate routes that may help.
- NoVa_RTExplorerThe search function at RV Park Reviews should give you a pretty good idea of what is available within various distances of your destinations. Looking at the State Maps can also help decide if it's a convenient location.
If you don't find anything you like, consider modifying your itinerary a bit. Drive a little longer or shorter one day, or take an alternative route, and see if that doesn't open up additional possibilities. There's usually a trip worth taking, even if it isn't how you initially planned it. - Mr__CamperExplorerWe don't forget to make reservations. Once you know where you are going, anticipate what you need and call ahead. This time of year in New England it's fall colors.

I have found some nice RV camps that aren't on rvparkrevies. I wonder how many of the RVing public even know about that web site or never bother with making a report - SweetWaterSurprExplorerDownloaded that one and a few others to see what comes around.
