Outside camping lights

Only clueless people leave lights on after they go inside.
Sometimes tent campers are just as bad with 2 Coleman lanterns going. A couple of years ago a whole group of kids had laser lights. Their Dad kept turning on his car headlights right at our campsite. Finally I turned on my headlights and it stopped.

Another one not a fan of outside lights here. Very rare that the door light, orange, is left on. Must be a reason better than simple darkness. Might do it in a treed CG & we are thwe only campers there.

I do have an old string of LED Christmas lights, dull, which plug into the outside outlet & end taking a wrap around the pinbox. They are there more to prevent walking into the pinbox than anything else.

For around the campsite lighting the most common light used is an old style kerosene lantern. It provides enough light not to trip over things & seems to help discourage mosquitos too.

If lots of light is needed without disturbing the neighbours I have a string of multi coloured Christmas lights, bright, that I tie up behind the surrey of the awning. This throws lots of light under the awning area but neighbours cannot see the light source.

Unfortunately those who read the forums probably are not the offenders. There are alot who only care about themselves...

85%± Chance that I won't leave them on all night; but I have before, and I will again. Be that as it may, there's probably a better then 50/50 chance they will be on when you go to bed. So your best bet is to not pick a site near my site.

Does your truck have 4 ways? Many people don't realize how helpful it is to have a vehicle's 4-ways on to guide EMS.

If you are afraid of the dark come on up to Alaska right now. Sun sets after midnight. Then you get a couple hours of twilight followed by sunrise before 4. No problem with outside lights. Would not notice them on

Hanging lights from your awning, riding bikes, playing cornhole, and flying drones is acting like aholes? You might want to stay home and make sure no kids are walking on your lawn.

Maybe you should read what he was agreeing too before opening up your word hole ->who have the bucket lights strung up in the trees, along with the 1,000 lumen lanterns blasting all night

Ah! I'm going to print out this entire thread and make multiple copies of it and keep them in my camper. Then, the next time someone leaves their obnoxious lights on all night -I mean...the really glaring, bright, airport runway lighting, or disco night club lighting - I'll slip over and leave a copy of this on their vehicle windshield under their wiper blade. Maybe when they see this, and read it, they might get the idea that no one appreciates someone else's obnoxious lights, except themselves.

Who really cares, though?

If I'm camping in state parks on weekends, in the summer, I expect that. Any experienced camper should expect that as well. Along with kids on bikes, cornhole bags hitting the boards, and shirtless guys flying drones.

If I get too tired of it, I'll stop camping around other people in popular campgrounds at the height of camping season. Honestly, I view it the same as I view going to Paris or London in July. You're going to see a bunch of tourists acting like fools

Well that changes everything then. I wasnt aware that we can all act like Aholes for weekend camping. They should really tell us that when we check in.
