Question about leveling jacks

Hello,
I am a new RV owner (37' Fleetwood Diesel). The RV is 15 years old and in excellent shape. The one question I have is about the leveling jacks. I begin to bring up the jacks by holding the "retract all jacks" for about 30 seconds. Afterward, on occasion, I will get a "jacks down" warning beep when I try to drive off. I can silence the beep by pressing the power button. When I inspect the jacks one of the rear ones is not all the way up - by about an inch. Can someone help me with a next step? I believe there is a special lubricant to put on them?

Thanks in advance.

When was they last time you sang the song
Lubricate Lubricate, Spray the shaft with lube. Lubricate Lubricate wipe it down with lube.

Use the lubricant specified in the jacks owners manual which you can download online,
  • What brand of jacks? HWH, PowerGear? Other?

Hydraulic? Electric? Internal or external springs (if any)?

All important to know. But for your situation, just extend the jacks and wipe each shaft with a clean dry rag, then spray them with PTFE dry lube.

Once you have the time, search online for a users guide for your brand of jacks. That will tell you how to maintain the jacks.
  • Broken or weak return springs?

I take 0000 steel wool and WD40 and clean the pistons each spring.
  • Electric?
Take it off and take it apart. Quite possibly it has been bent sometime in the last 15 years.
