Thanks Lantley. After the concern was brought up to me, I did a lot of homework last night (I work night shift). I found out that there are basically 3 types: cable, hydraulic, and rack & pinion.
Do you know the most important thing that I learned? I can fix a broken cable in less than a half hour at a camp ground. I cannot fix a broken hydraulic line easily or repack bushings on the spot. That means the Accu-Slide is a better option for a hands-on guy like me.
Plus, when the cable system closes the slide (in both directions) it seems to almost guarantee a tighter seal at the top.
