you might want to increase the "muffler" cleaning maintenance if using a Genturie device.
My Onan requires the spark arrester be blown out by running with the plug out every 50 hours. I am in the camp that these devices restrict flow. If you restrict flow, more crud is bound to end up in the spark arrester.
I am also in the camp that if your CO alarms are going off while the generator is running, you got a problem. Installing a Genturie to "correct" this is not a good idea. It is an improvement, but I would try to find the air leak.
The densities of air and CO are really close. Wind changes and inversion situations, as well as humidity levels, could very well send CO into your rig from the Genturie through the same pathway it was using prior to Genturie installation.
I have run my generator for hours while working around the new rig to see if it would trip the alarm. So far, no alarms. I do sleep in it with the generator running, but I check weather and wind to make sure I will have good air flow around the rig. Our bed is directly above the generator. I installed an additional plug-in CO detector in that room for an additional level of safety.
