Running generator at night while sleeping?

I read somewhere that every hour a gen runs equals a gallon of gasoline. If you run it for days at a time did you have an aux fuel source, or did it not use that much.

A gas genets will use that much at full load; less at lighter loads. Most motorhomes have a 60 gallon or larger tank.
My Onan QD diesel genset uses more like a half gallon per hour and I have a 100 gallons of fuel.
