RV Insurance (Full Time)

Hey all! Hope youre staying well during this crazy time.

Fresh about-to-be full timers. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions/info on RV Insurance? We just got quoted $12k/year - which seems outrageous. We've never seen it that high when researching before, but now inputting our RV info (2010 Monaco Dynasty - 45ft) we got this quote. Eeek. This can't be right?

Any info or sharing of your experience with RV insurance?
Thanks in advance!
  • Almost sounds like you got quoted a commercial policy. Who was the quote from?
  • Where are you setting up your full-time residency? Which state? You should purchase your insurance in whatever state you are doing that, along with your drivers license and title. We are residents of S Dakota and have our full-timer policy with Progressive in that state.
  • Welcome new folks...ignore the the "do a search in caps" folks. Only a blessed few were born never new.
  • Have you used the search function on the forum? There are MANY discussions on this topic.

12,000 a year.. Multi Million dollar Prevost motor home and you have a driving history which includes multiple DUI convictions or someting.

I agree that's outrageous.. And from what others post I need to have a "Chat" with my agent too. So I will soon as this other mess goes away .(Or and I do not pay anywhere near 12K/year)
  • Nationwide through FMCA... 06 Dynasty 43' $1,985 per year $500k CSL Colision and Comp $1k deduct $2k towing. Fulltime $500K liability $50k med pmts to others. Personal effects $5k.

    Lisc in FL CDL-B...zero points/accidents.

You have to shop for sure, I have changed carriers 4x in 20 years. Nuisance rasies of $360 a year ($1 a dayare common) after 3 or 6 time to shop.

This should give you and idea... everybody is different but $12K??? RIPOFF...SHOP hard!
