Yes it is typical.
For happiest RV ownership I recommend you're either handy with DIY, or you have scoped out a very competent RV repair shop. Additionally either a lot of patience and persistence with warranty repairs, or the willingness to DIY them, or pay someone else to do them to expedite the process.
Not saying any of this is right but it is what it is. Certain mfg. can be great on warranty repairs if you live near the factory.
