I'm looking at my owners manual now. The towing chart says for 3-5 persons with luggage: Max Gross Trailer weight: 3,350 lbs, Max Tongue weight: 335 lbs. There is a note below that says subtract 100 lbs trailer weight with stow'n'go seats. So that leaves me with 3,250 and 335 on the tongue. I've seen several models that fall below those numbers.
I can't believe that they would put that in the book if it wasn't within safety margins.
This is dejavu for me. - My buddy went through the same thing - relied on the manual and didn't get it weighed.
If you are really interested in finding out, then loacte a CAT scale near you, load up the van as to go camping - including a full tank of gas, then go get weighed. Compare the weights with the gross capacities for your van. Anything left over will go for tongue weight.
Otherwise, your relying on a guess - and just know that your putting your family in a vehicle that is maxed out, or most likely over maxed on it's capacities and driving down the road.
