- DtaylorExplorerI leave mine in. That said, spices are only good for about two months. (depending on the spice, I use past that)
- B_SjulestadExplorer IIWe have a wicker basket for all the spices and take them out after each trip. Found out the hard way mice love pepper flakes darn things chewed right through the cap of the bottle.
- Bob___AnnExplorerX2 on the garlic being a problem. It becomes a rock
- Francesca_KnowlExplorerSummer heat's a lot harder on spices than winter cold. They'll fade faster at room temps in the house than they would at refrigerator/freezer temps in the RV.
- AllworthExplorer IISpices in glass jars should be OK. They will "age out" before you use them up. If we are not going anywhere for six weeks or so we bring them into the house to use them up.
We, however, are not weekend warriors. We travel for about five or six weeks at a time, three of four times a year. - Scott_85ExplorerThanks for the replies.
- TachdriverExplorerI remove spices and food for the winter but load in the sprint.
FWIW: I've noticed a smell from the spices so I pack them all in a plastic tub with a lid....now it does not smell like garlic and onion when I walk in. - craig7hNomad III load camper in the spring unload in winter. I have a large spice rack there are only a few that I have problems with, the powders like garlic, onion etc.
- summerhouseExplorerI take all food stuff out of our coach every winter. I don't normally take the spices out. Pretty much everything else however.
