I don't think your observations and thoughts are unusual at all, just human nature. When we go camping, it's just my wife and I (in our mid 60's) and the 2 dogs. We don't do much either. We just enjoy being there, wherever there is. Being physically handicapped, it's hard for me to walk around, especially off a paved, flat surface. I enjoy watching kids being kids and people being people. We don't just keep to ourselves, we meet very nice people at every campground we are at. We socialize some, but we know you are there to have a good time with your family and friends and not to entertain us. Enjoy your camping. Like my step-son says, it's like a mini vacation every weekend.
