I love Brown County State Park. I also know which site to book (and I'm not sharing) and we no longer go there unless we can get that site.
Also, the Buffalo Ridge loop is nothing like a KOA.
OP, we have many state parks that are less crowded. Maybe you should give one of those a shot. Indiana has a great state park system (although sites are a little overpriced, IMO) and there are other places you can go that will get your somewhat away from the crowd.
Actually the OP was complaining that two couples (separate campers) were just sitting in their campsites and not participating in all the screaming, etc. Really, how dare they?
