Stupid newbie question: levelling

I've got a stupid newbie question. I've searched but can't find an exact answer:

When you use blocks to raise the rear of the RV for levelling, do you put blocks under both tires of the dualie? I've just been doing the outside one, although I've been careful to have that tire fully on the block.

We have a 21ft class C motorhome.
  • Never, never lift the front of your Class C with a tongue jack. I didn't ever want someone to try it with my Class C, so I cut it off..

  • I concur. Never have a wheel unsupported. Block under every wheel that is elevated.

You should use the tongue jack to raise the rear of a trailer. Use something under all wheels on the same side to level side to side, then tongue jack to level front to back. Once level, lower stabilizers.

True for a trailer but the OP has a class c motor home.
  • Edit:
    Totally misread.

Blocks under all tires at same hub.

Also, no such thing as a "stupid newbie question"!!!! Its how we learn from those that have "been there, done that".

  • Rear jacks are for stabilization not leveling.

Blocks under both tires on the side that needs to go up is the way to go.

    Hope this helps.
  • New here also, with a new class c. From researching and reading other posts here, you have to block both wheels/tires. If you don't, all the weight from that side/axle will be resting on the one tire you have the block under, which is not good for that tire. You wouldn't run on one tire, so don't block only one tire.
