But now I'm worried about the comment that the king pin/pin box may hit the top of the tailgate when it's in the closed position.
The pin box may not hit the tailgate but you need to make sure it will not hit the bed rail when near a 90 degree turn.
My friend had a Montana 5th wheel that would hit his bed rail. We had to cut some of the pin box for clearance.
Search this forum for bed rail clearance and you may find where others have had this problem.
