So we were supposed to get our RV tomorrow, but because of a money fiasco, we won't be picking it up until Friday. :S Anyhoo .... I would love it if everybody could share their tips, tricks, do's ...

and there are two major brands of multi-function surge protectors. one has a lifetime warranty so folks here tout them. but they will be $250 and up, not the $90 specials that are not multi function.
and they are cheap compared to the damage that can result without one. do a search for previous threads on expensive mishaps.
