The OPs "1500HD" was sold as a 2500 (NOT HD) around 2002/3. It has a GVWR of 8600#.
It is NOT a typical 1/2 ton.
That being said the OP should heed the comments about tongue weight etc.
I don't recall seeing which WW he is planning to tow, so we don't know the actual weights.
Let's see if he comes back with more data.

Even if your truck has a strong enough engine and transmission to tow that trailer, it really doesn't have the the rear axle and receiver capacity for something that heavy. The tongue weight will be close to 15% of the gross weight rating of the trailer whether loaded or not. Once you load up your family in the truck, you will find that you have little left to tow this kind of toy hauler with a 1500.

Toy haulers and Weekend Warriors in particular have heavy tongue weight. Be sure that your truck cargo capacity and receiver capacity can handle it.

My WW FK1900 has an empty tongue weight of 1,000 pounds and 1,100 pounds fully loaded. The sticker in the cabinet says 600 pounds empty tongue weight.

No No No!!
8600# is the MAX the truck can weigh. AKA GVWR
Your combination (truck plus trailer) can weigh somewhere approaching 14,000# as long as that does not load the truck beyond GVWR.
