I think you are biting off more than your TV can chew. That's all I'm going to say, except that if you decide to tow anything with your TV, you will need to ensure it has had a good going over - brakes, fluids - transmission, shocks, the whole shebang. Does it have good tires rated at the original specs or better? Towing capacity is a myth - get well versed in the payload limitations of your truck. Payload will be exceeded before tow capacity. Lots of info on here about it.
If I were in your shoes, and I have been in a situation where I could die - AML in 2003, the last thing I would do is saddle family members with the responsibility a TT big enopugh to house 8 people.
I would look into places such as the Ronald McDonald house, or similar programs. Ask the hospital where you will be. I'm sure they will be able to give alternatives as they see lots of people in similar siuations. If nothing else, rent an apartment.
Advise I am qualified to give is this: Recovery from stuff like this is all about a positive attitude. Outside stressors will be an obstacle to your recovery.
Good luck with your decesions that you will be making and I'll say a prayer for you - something else I feel was on my side during my year long battle. God bless.
