TV questions/small travel trailer

So, I didn't think we would ever have to install or have a TV/DVD, but now our toddler is a crazy one and we think it might help him veg out prior to nap time.

We have a starcraft ar-one 16BH and the layout is weird. In the front we have the dinnette--which we keep folded into a bed full time (mom and dad sleep here in theory). The other bunks are for gear and the toddler. We figure the toddler can watch tv from our bed (dinnette area).

We have one place on the wall that says it is suitable for a TV mount--but the cable, DC power, etc is nowhere near that location. I'm not sure why it is there. However, on the other side of the room near the entry door is a "tv console" sort of thing that has a DC power outlet and a cable jack (picture included). So I figure that I would have to get a small LED tv with a dvd player and "set" it on that. If I do that, are there any brackets for holding a small tv in place on a flat surface like that? I only ever see the wall mounts. None of the tv stands that come with small leds these days seem to have screw holes for mounting.

One final question: next to the DC outlet and cable jack, there is a small "power" button...what is this for, the antennae on the roof? Total newbie here.....

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

  • I have a Coachmen 16B, same floor plan. I set my tv on the shelf pictured when watching and lay it on the top bunk with the edge of the stand wedged between the shelf and mattress when traveling, it stays put nicely.

As others have said, the power button is for the antenna booster.
  • I've used these "Equipment Safety Straps" to hold a number of items, including TV's, in place in various RV's. Right now I have two sets holding down our satellite receiver and its external hard drive.
  • We have an AR one 17rd and do not permanently mount the tv anywhere. We keep it on the dinette when were camping then lay it down on the bed when traveling. It's a small 19" LCD TV with a built in DVD player. We use the stand that came with the tv.

As far as the power button goes, I think what you're referring to is the power you need to turn on when using the roof antenna.
  • Take another pic of the area just above the shot you've already posted & post it also. I believe you have more options than first thought.

Also, were you intending on getting one of those 12 volt TV/DVD combo units ?
