When the a/c tries to kick on the generators don't throttle up like they should. they do when we use microwave and coffee maker kick on. Talked to Honda and they were not much help.
Stalled motors (like compressor trying to start) look like different loads to the generator controller, compared to electronics or resistive loads. The surge until it starts spinning is way over the combined output of the paired gensets, a surge supplied by the inertia of the rotor of genset (a conventional genset actually slows down briefly as rotational energy is converted to a surge of electrical power).
Maybe Eco mode on an inverter genset means the rotors are spinning more slowly, don't have the rotational energy to give up.
If the A/C starts OK with Eco turned off, then the solution is to leave Eco turned off if you want to use the A/C.
Yes! That is why I suggested leaving the ecco switch off. The start up load of the AC is high enough to overcome the generators ability to switch out of ecco in a timely manner and they shut down. My solution may go against the grain with normal day to day operations but I'm willing to wager that leaving the ecco off will solve the OP's problem. :C
