Obviously you are looking for an argument and as much fun as that would be look elsewhere. tatest and ktmrfs explained the problem (far better than I did), that the OP is having which by the way coincides with my solution. IMHO: The OP's his problem goes away if he leaves the ecco setting in the off position when running his AC all night. Because of the high start up loads of AC which can be far different from most other AC loads this simple solution should work. I hope the OP tries it with success.
