Ever since we have had a MH we have had a toad. I can't imagine doing what we have done and seen without a toad. Touring with a toad that gets 30mpg seems a lot better than the MH that gets only 8-10mpg. But, as Grit Dog suggests, try it and see if going toadless fits your style. You can always add a toad.
