You will miss a lot without a toad. We have been to many places where the RVs of the size you are talking about would have either not been allowed on the road or the trip would have been "interesting". I have also been in many places where parking would have been impossible with most RVs. You would need to come down in size significantly before you could see the sights without the toad.
