When I first began towing a travel trailer in 2012 the wife and I went up to Harrisville State Park in MI. Had a nice week visiting friiends and just enjoying our new trailer and getting familiar with it. Headed home just after noon and took M13 to stay off 75. Coming into Linwood there is a notable turkey restaurant. Traffic was very light. Day was clear and dry. 2 cars were in front of me and we had all just passed a single car doing 45 in the 55 so we were in the inside lane. I see the frist car up front brake lites come on to turn into that restaurant...no turn signal though...the car behind him was stopping behind the first car. We really had plenty of distance between us, at least until the second car just sat there in the lane after the first car made their turn...no oncoming traffic was there. With the distance closing fast and thinking the guy was going to turn I stayed in the lane..he just sat there. I hit the brakes pretty hard and swerved into the outside lane and thankfully it was clear. Arrived at a stop light about 1000 ft. up the road yet and the guy was still just sitting in the lane. I have no idea why he did not turn into the restaurant parking lot with all the time he had to do it in. Lesson learned for a newbie.
