You can find LT tires in other than 16" rim size but you have to look far and wide. One member posted the Hankook tire he found but I'd have to wonder about availability, especially if you got a flat that couldn't be repaired (not necessarily a blow out). The availability of that tire cuould leave you stranded for a while.
I did get the same Hankook LT tire for a spare. Discount had these for me in a day. If it came to being stranded for a week, I'd definately throw another tire on and live with it till I got home. I also carry a plug kit and have an onboard air compressor. While maybe not the perfect solution it is a workable one.
I stand somewhat corrected, I should have said the LT in a 15" load range E is very difficult to find. I did the search for LT's in a 15" but when I was looking, I was looking for something that would be suitable for my TT. The load range D tire would not be adequate for the job with my TT. So, if ones TT is doesn't require the the higher capacity load rating then of course, an "LT-D" in a 15" wheel will do the job. However, anything requiring an "LT-E," you will be hard pressed to find in a 15". I could be wrong on this as well but that was my experience. I was only able to find the E in a 16" and 17", if there are other sizes I didn't look as anything larger than a 17" woudl be impracticle for my TT as I would imagine other trailers as well.
