I have to vote for crazy also :) sorry!
We tried the 'long haul' trip on short amt of days also. It just isn't fun being in the truck that long driving. It stinks actually :)
We now limit. 2 days, straight driving, 6-7 hours each day....so we can go basically 14 hours away from our home. THAT IS our limit. We just do not find it enjoyable at all to go longer.
I keep hesitating on a much wanted Florida Keys trip. 19 1/2 hr drive. I am thinking, MAN SO much time on the road, is it worth it in the end....driving down is never as bad, coming home with that driving ahead of you is way worse when everyone is tired.
I am trying to find ways to get more days but work etc. just screws it up as usual. I think basically for now we are limiting to our 14 hr max from the house and holding there til something changes in our favor for a longer haul.
I also want out West but ain't happening any time soon. Eastern coast is our fun right now. 5-9 hr trip along the coast and being beach people we are happy with that right now.
