1800 miles in 3 days with 3 kids in a truck. Crazy or not

This stranger won't give you advice, but I will mention that I have yet to take our 5er more than 1200 miles away from home because I am confined to a max of 2 weeks vacation during the summer months. And I have always felt it important to include the travel as part of the journey. We have grand plans upon retirement, but not yet.

When our kids were younger, we saved up and stayed in motels for longer journeys. We would only consider our 5er as a cheaper means of moteling-it if the distance wasn't too far away.
