You've basically said a lot of what I had already thought, even both sides of the argument.
We'll do it at some point, just not sure when. There is so much value in seeing our national parks and there are so many of them that I want to take my children to visit. I feel I have to squeeze it all in. That being said, we cancelled our site in the Black Hills this month and traded it in for a vacation that was half the mileage and we still felt like we drove a lot. But we had a fantastic time on our little 1200 mile week long vacation. It was relaxing and not three days away. There's a lot of value in that as well.
