1800 miles in 3 days with 3 kids in a truck. Crazy or not

As was mentioned, get the whole family in on the planning.. when kids are older, have them plan out some days.... we did an annual summer vacation to the Oregon coast for a number of years. When the kids were older, they took turns planning the trip, especially food purchase and meal planning. We have almost always stayed somewhere that had at least a mini kitchen so this allowed us to keep expenses down. We are hoping to be able to travel more now (just wife and I), but I still have to work...
