We are picking up a new Keystone Outback 323BH this Friday. The TT has a huge 19' slide that is 36" deep. We have always had slide toppers but the unit does not have one. Due to the size they probably don't make one. I was wondering if I could add 2 10' slide toppers on instead. Granted there would be a small gap where some rain will get through but II prefer them to help insulate as well as keep debris off the top of the slide. Tks

I believe they will make one that large, though it would require maybe 2 cradle kits, heavy duty brackets and 2 anti-bilow devices-that said, I don't see the problem with 2.

My assumption is water pooling on a 20' topper might destroy it in short order which is why I was thinking 2. One dealer told me when i was shopping for the TT and I asked about a single topper that it would be 1400 installed:E2 would probably cost me under 850.

He just doesn't want to do it- the custom are the same price per foot as stock, with a couple of small add ons.

I had a Class A full wall slide with a 28 ft topper. Set up was as per Chris`s diagram. Keep the tension adjusted properly and pooling of water not an issue.

No- too much makes billowing a big issue, so I put the slot in the awning rail right at 7 inches.

You really couldn't gain much- there is only 1 inch between minimum and maximum clearance. I always install with the max (for the Dometic deluxe model) of 7" between bottom of flange and rail.

Just thinking here. Maybe I'm nuts. If there is room above the slide out to do it. Could you install the top strip that the awning slides into with one end 1/2 inch higher than the other and then install the brackets for the roller/tube the same way? It would still be on an even plane when pulling out but it would be sloped slightly one direction so the water would run off. Wish mine had been installed that way. As it is it pools up there and then runs off on the end towards the door.

The one gotcha I ran in to is the custom made ones are considered OEM models, and they do not include the awning rail- not something I liked finding out when I unpacked it ready to install on a schedule.

I would think a single cradle would be fine. The only difference I could see in the heavy duty brackets is the hex bars between bracket and end are solid, not hollow.

Called dometic and they make one to fit. They said to add the cradle as Chris mentioned above. Waiting for a dealer to call me back with pricing. Will go with one unit. Just not sure if I should play it safe with 2 cradles or go with one.
