2005 Honda CRV

Looking at a 2005 Honda CRV to tow behind Motorhome. It bass
122,000 miles and set up to tow. Person said 2/3 of the miles are towed miles. Does the CRV ring up miles when towing. I did not think it did?

  • If correct, the CRV you are looking at has about 200,000 plus or so over the road miles. Driving and being towed.
The CRV is a great toad, but there are crv's in that year range with far less miles.
Check out the Camping World special now going on. $29.00 installation.
I would Get the price of my favorite tow bar set up and proceed with the total tow bar cost in mind plus car and compare to the one you are looking at.

Since that person obviously lied to you as the towed miles do not show on the odometer, I would find another vehicle from an honest seller.
  • Does that mean only 40,000 on the odometer and another 80,000 towed. If towed correctly the towed miles do not accumulate on the odometer. And yes, manual says to change trans fluid every 30,000 miles if being towed.

My 2003 reads 120,000 on the odometer but would show another 65,000 (185,000 total) if it registered all miles, towed and not towed.
  • It does not add miles. It was also supposed to have the trans fluid changed every 30000 miles. I personally would find one that hasn't been towed and pay the money to add a baseplate.
