OK,OK,OK, I made a major error and statement. For that I am very sorry. Mine DOES NOT have a rear sway bar. I was so sure it did, but I went and looked the next time I was out by it. I am human. My feelings are not hurt for being called out. Good day to all.

not for srt 10 truck it is for a 2500. SRT 10 parts are in a sepertate book which i dont have because our dealership doesnot sell srt cars trucks as we aer not a 5star dealer so we cannot sell or repair under warrenty (not that i havent) i have to call our districk tech advisor todo any work on them, ( i do have the training on them thou)
There is precious little info on that part number, in fact this thread is on page 1.
The diagram is not a 2500 frame, so???
We have a guy in this thread claiming to have it, only guy I haver ever seen make that claim in 8 years of heavy use on Dodge forums, seems to be ignoring the request for a photo... That doesn't add a lot of credibility to his claim. - AH64IDExplorerJohn... I see you are online.

- subcamperExplorer IIAdding a sway bar, either to the front or rear, will change the understeer/oversteer behavior of the vehicle. When you add the rear sway bar, the truck will oversteer more. In other words, the rear will break loose sooner than it did without the sway bar. I'm not sure how the oversteer/understeer behavior is on a stock Dodge pickup, so I can't comment on any beneficial/detrimental effects it will have. I added a rear sway bar on my 1994 Suburban and it did change the handling behavior (at the limits). Even if you say it doesn't matter because you don't drive the truck like a sports car, you may have to make an emergency evasive manuever, in which case "at the limits" may occur.
If you add the sway bar, test out the truck in a large empty parking lot(with no trailer) before and after to see what effects it will have.

BAR,Rear Sway 05290355AA part number for rear sway bar for 2004 2500 model year in 2004 model year out 2006
i work as chrysler tech/parts person
5300 Part Inquiry
(00540)CALL VINTAGE PARTS AT 1-877-846-8243 TO ORDER. NO LONGER SUPPLIED BY MOPAR.
but there are dealers that have them in stock
no sway bar for 2011
The part listed appears to be for the SRT-10 trucks, not the 2500's.
If you look at the diagram it shows a forward facing anti-sway bar, with a axle-wrap shock (aka power hop damper) and a under-slung 5 lug axle. The SRT-10 runs this setup, not any 2500.
Coincidentally the SRT-10 trucks ran from 2004-2006. - bguyExplorer

Very, very wrong. No aftermarket suspension parts on this truck. I have owned it since it had 19 miles on it. I ordered it.john&bet wrote:

If that is the case then please explain why my '04.5 has one.
That went away with the 03 updated body. Dodge said the SB wasn't needed because of the increased length and geometry of the new trucks rear springs.
Because it's aftermarket.
There wasn't an OEM anti swaybar in 2004.5.
Sorry, it wasn't an OEM option so something is up. You cannot have what wasnot offered. You either don't have a rear anti-sway bar, or it's aftermarket. Either way you are the one who is wrong.
Any pics of your setup? Let's see this suspension.
If you ordered it how did it get 19 miles on it? Did te dealership add it on their own? Check your invoice.
Not trying to be a a$$... It simply wasn't offered on any 3rd gen HD Dodge pickup.
You may as well tell me you have an OEM Allison trans too, the odds are just as good.
