Lots of discussion about 2013 CRV. We are looking at a 2012 for towing 4 down. They must be great cars. I see a lot of them behind motorhomes.

Not a hijack, just a note of suggestion.

As dturm noted, you could get a "grinding" noise when the wheel with grip kicks in. Could also get the same noise during tight turns.

If you hear this, have the rear tansaxle fluid changed. That will stop it.

Current CRV: 2005 CRV 156K miles, 60K towed. Purchased used off leaseback.

Last CRV: 1988 168K when turned in. 30K towed. Also purchased used off leaseback.

No mechanical issues with either other than normal wear and tear.

Will buy 2013, again used, when they start showing up on the lots.

Great vehicle.

Driving the CRV in snow is great compared to previous cars I've owned. Anti-lock brakes and the AWD makes is so much safer.

I have a 2013 that I set up with a charge line and a SMI brake system (gas, so it is the stay-n-play, but the make the air force 1 for diesels). Wonderful setup. Just throw a switch to turn the toad brakes on or off. Nothing to move or worry about. With over 3000 miles of towing, it has been flawless.

Driving on snow (lots of recent experience) you get some experience with this. There is a yellow triangle symbol on the dash that comes on when a wheel is slipping and you get a grinding like sound when the other wheels pick up the slack. I think it's a situation where it only engages when a wheel loses traction. I don't know if that just the AWD or the variable traction control (or what ever they call it).

Slightly different subject. The AWD version of the CRV is an "all wheel drive" model....BUT....how can you tell if the AWD is working?? There is a light that lights up if it ISNT working...but that might not always be the best way!!

No switches to turn on or horns to beep or ??...nothing. I guess it just does it automatically or ??

I do had to replace the transmission in my 09 Fit

I just got a 2011 Honda CRV 'opalescent sage' according to some. I found the Honda Electric service manual online. That fuse is #34 and powers the radio, and the two plugs up front. Am looking at towbar & plates now. Seems that Blue Ox needs more cutting of the plastic than the Roadmaster. Can you mix and match base plates and towbars? Looking at the Blue Ox Patriot for brake shoes, and tail light converter to split out turn signals. Will pull with Lazydaze 31 IB when factory done with it.

You could solve the issue by adding a charge line from the MH to the CRV. You wouldn't have to pull the fuse or worry about a dead battery.
