- Cloud_9ExplorerThanks for the link ! I Did not see that.
Carl - okgcExplorerMotor Trend named the Chevrolet Colorado its 2015 Truck of the Year, edging out both the Ford Transit van and the 2015 Ford aluminum F-150.

The models local dealers had to look at, featured this autotrac transfer case, it has an auto setting but no N. So reading the above page from the manual you thoughtfully down loaded, "only dingy tow 4wheel drive vehicles with2speed transfer case and neutral setting and 4wheel low setting." Note the knob illustrated, autotrac knob does not look like that. While we may not end up with this as a toad, the topic may serve to avoid future confusion.q

So... they do have a N position in the standard 4WD. Browsing the manual, I didn't see any mention of 4wd systems other than the one in the images. No mention of AutoTrac or anything related, that I could find. - Cloud_9ExplorerThanks for your feedback, yup, it appears that only a certain version of there 4wd system would be towable. Local dealers only had the"autotrac" system in inventory. No N position. It can be ordered I suppose, but we are not ready to commit, still looking.
- moishehExplorerThe manual for the Colorado is on line @ Chevrolet.com. It is not a final print but here is what it says about dinghy towing:
"Only dinghy tow four-wheel-drive
vehicles with a two-speed transfer
case that have an N (Neutral) and a
Four-Wheel Drive Low (4 (
n) setting"
I would not take that as Gospel without a written confirmation from GM. But sounds like it will be fine.
Moisheh - DSDP_DonExplorerI'm waiting for them to put the V8 back into it again.
- traveylinExplorerI did a lot of searching/evaluating to settle on a 4 wheel drive auto transmission 2012 crew cabin light truck gmc canyon. I would still buy a used one preferently to a new 2015 for previous reason
- Cloud_9ExplorerThanks to all for the replies. I guess I will have to look at the owners manual to be sure. I do know this issue of flat towing can be confusing to say the least, as to the vehicle itself, we are just curious, we do know folks who towed the prior generation truck, and were very happy with it. We currently tow a 2007 Pontiac Vibe behind our class C . DW looking for for something with auto trans and awd or 4wheel drive., and a bit bigger.

Somehow I don't think these are the words of someone trying to sell this truck.
