2dr wrangler

Would a 2dr wrangler be a good vehicle choice behind a 2004 WFB 30B Winnebago Sightseer with a Ford V10? We are considering the Winnebago and wondering if the Wrangler would be a good fit or are there better choices?
Thanks for your responses
  • It is easily towable if it is 4wd. 2wd Jeeps are not towable four wheels down. You'll never know that a 2 door Jeep is behind you. Been there done that. Actually on my third Jeep toad.
  • YES, if four wheel drive, either automatic or manual transmission.
Personally, I would look for a 2003-2006 Wrangler Rubicon, the 2 door Unlimited version. the longer wheel base makes for a better ride, IMO, and it will go nearly anywhere the shorter one will.
I towed one for many miles.
  • We love our Wrangler and have no problems towing it. Be mindful of weight - there is about a 500 lb difference between the base model and the loaded top end model. Check your actual weight vs. your gross combined weight. Our manual soft top Willys weighs right around 3900 lbs.
  • Thanks for the responses, looks like a Wrangler is in my future.
  • We have a 2003 Wrangler Sport with auto trans we tow behind our Class C, it works great and is eady to hook up; go for SMI's StayInPlay braking system. It costs a little more but is very convenient and you won't have any problems.

we tow either a 2003 2d wrangler or a 2010 4d liberty. e-z to connect and disconnect and no time/distance/speed restrictions. just make sure the particular model jeep you are looking at has a manually selectable neutral position in the transfer case.
  • We towed a 2005 Wrangler. Very good toad: light weight, narrow and short. There was just one problem: my wife did not always like where I took the Jeep (off-road).
