Brand irrelevant, a larger, more powerful truck in most cases is going to perform "better" just by sheer physics alone. Erring on the side of caution is rarely a bad thing.
Agree. One ton will handle that unit much better.
Never, ever buy a dinky 3/4 ton, (that is totally sufficient.....) if you can get buying the 1 ton for only $15,000 more, past your wife.
:B - jerem0621Explorer IIDepends, are we talking 360 vs 5.4 V8, 8.0 vs 6.8 V10's, or PowerStroke vs Cummins?
I give the edge to the Ford Gassers and the edge to the Cummins in the diesel. The V10's will handle it, they will be thirsty though. I do agree, the one ton dually would be a better fit...although if you watch the numbers you may be able to get away with a SRW.
Also, the payload on those early F250's was VERY light weight... as in my FIL has a Lariat F250 4x4 PSD and he was within 300-500 lbs of payload on my old 97 F150.
thanks!
