Your 250 should handle that trailer quite easily. With the 6.7 diesel, your door payload sticker will be low (about 2,100-2300). This is due to your class rated 10,000 lb GVWR.

Your diesel will pull it easily, and your rear axle and tires will have enough capacity to carry that trailer, even when loaded for camping.

Likely maybe a bit over GVWR for the TV, but I tow carry the same size unit with our 2001 Ram. If you are OK with being over the TV GVWR then you should be fine,

  • A 9800 dry 5th wheel trailer may weigh 11500-12000 lb when loaded which means around 2400 lb pin weight.

The F250 won't have any issues carrying up to around 3000 lbs and of course no problems pulling that size trailer.

    Looks like a great combo
  • Keep in mind this trailer will be somewhere between 11,500 and 12,000lbs loaded and ready to go with >2000lbs of pin weight. Yes you will put that much stuff in it, and options like AC and propane are not included in the dry weight.

The truck certainly has the power, and you are not going to exceed any axle ratings. However, you will probably exceed the GVWR of the truck, and you have to decide if that is an issue for you or not.

Factory GVWR is not a legal limit in the US at this time, so you will not get ticketed, or denied insurance coverage should there be an accident. People might try to tell you that to scare you, but there are simply no verifiable accounts of it happening. With an RV, if you look good the cops leave you alone.

The truck's not going to collapse in on itself the moment you go 1lb over any rating, but there may be some long-term effects on the truck such as extra wear and tear if you travel often. One thing you will probably want to add is airbags to take some of the sag out of the rear end when you're hitched up.

  • Also find the payload number for your F250, it will be on a placard located somewhere on the driver's door jamb. It is the same placard that has the tire pressures.

Check your specs. and re-post. Did you mean 10,000 lbs? No way is the pin weight going to be anywhere near 100 lbs..???
