5th WheelTrade in value

I have the Nada Guide for the low and average retail value for my 5th wheel. Is there any way I can use that to calculate about what my trade-in value should be?
  • It seems to run about 70% of average retail. You might see if your local library has a copy of the commercial NADA guide. I was told but have not verified that that guide has the wholesale/trade value listed.
  • Whatever the number ends up being, negotiate your best price first, then introduce the trade. That way you will know if you are getting the best trade value.
  • Not sure about trade in value but I took the NADA print out with me when financing ours and the credit union used it without any questions as all.
  • I think used RVs are at a premium right now. I traded in a 1994 MH and was allowed $2,500 more than I gave for it 5 years ago
  • I'm not so sure. On my last FW, NADA said it was worth $16K. When I traded it in on my current model, the dealership offered me $26K. This was after they'd already given me a very low price on my new unit. I didn't want to appear too anxious, so I very calmly asked if we could close the deal and sign the contract. Moral of the story: NADA may or may not be accurate.
