I see you like my way, everything is great to see. Love all of N.M.
We depart on a travel day between 8 and 9 AM and plan on stopping between 2 and 3 PM. We do not care how far we go on any given day, just do not hurry to get on the road and want to relax in the afternoons at a reasonable time. If we decide we want a down day or two we just stay where we stop for however long we feel like it. LOVE IT! - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

I'm 70 now, so I know that 70 years old is time to cut back on my miles driven per day.
I have set my limit at 300 miles per day, no more ever in one day.At 75 that drops to 200 miles per day.
.
So, lets see how the math goes....
70 = 300 miles
75 = 200 miles
80 = 100 miles
85 = 0 miles.......and then it gets intersting....
90 = backup 100 miles
95 = backup 200 miles
100 = backup 300 miles.......:B
So, if you are going East for the first 15 years, I guess you'll be going West after that!:)
Reason it's interesting after 85 and going backwards....
you get to see where you've been!
And - with "CRS" - it's just as good the second time around.:W
~ - PapPappyExplorerI'd rather set up destinations....shootinf for maybe 3-400 miles if it's a "push" day, but lots less, if there are interesting things to see along the way.
I dive over 600 miles when I go to work, but only do that every two weeks....sure wouldn't want to drive 12 hours/day. - PapPappyExplorer

I’m 74 and I just made two 1000 mile drives straight through. That was solo destination driving, though, Phoenix to OK and Ohio back to OK. But the DW switches off with me so no one drives dingy. Towing is very different; I’m a wanderer so I may cover 50 miles or 500 depending on what there is to see. And I’m the sole driver so about 10 hours is all I really care to do which translates to about 500 miles. In practice, though, there’s so much to see in my region I may not move more than 100-200 miles in a day.

- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerWe have been full timing for 5 years, started when DH was 63 and we have always only gone about 300 miles a day or less. We get too grumpy if we don't stop early and have our beverages!! LOL.
- Tom_BarbExplorerWe are on the road by day light, and off by dark. I don't like driving at night anymore, we are here to see what we can see. that doesn't work at night.
Milage varies, winter will be short days, summer not so much. - ScottGNomadI don't see any reason to assign arbitrary number of hours but assuming one is retired and has the time, why would he wan't to drive all day? I say drive until early afternoon and find a nice park to enjoy life in for the rest of the day.
